Iced Matcha Coconut Water Recipe

This iced matcha coconut water is a refreshing twist on the classic matcha latte. Matcha is known for its energising properties and antioxidants, making it a great alternative to coffee.

Coconut water is a natural source of electrolytes, so this drink is perfect for rehydrating on a hot day — clean, lightly sweet and far lighter than a milk-based latte.

Recipe questions

Why coconut water instead of milk?

Coconut water keeps the drink light and hydrating, and it is a natural source of electrolytes. The subtle sweetness pairs surprisingly well with the grassy notes of matcha.

What matcha works best with coconut water?

A smooth organic ceremonial matcha like EISAI shines here because there is no milk to hide behind. Its natural sweetness balances the coconut water.

Can I skip the maple syrup?

Yes. Coconut water is naturally sweet, so taste first and only add maple syrup if you want a sweeter drink.
