The KOHIKI Chawan is a medium-sized matcha tea bowl that is hand-crafted using iron-rich clay by Mino potters in Japan.
The inner and outer surface of the bowl is covered with a white slip and then sealed with a translucent glaze.
The base of the bowl is unglazed which gives a striking contrast that feels nice to hold in the hands.
In Japan, the KOHIKI style started with Korean potters and appealed greatly to the busho chajin or warrior-tea men of the late 1500s.
This Chawan has a good size base allowing you to whisk matcha with ease so that you can achieve frothy Matcha crema within a few seconds.
