SAEKA is a deeply steamed, stone-milled green tea powder made from first harvest Saemidori leaves. A single cultivar, a single origin, a single season. Brighter, more floral, and naturally sweet, with the same effortless whisking you love from ceremonial matcha.

What makes it different

SAEKA vs matcha

Not shaded, grown in full sun. Matcha is made from shade-grown leaves that concentrate chlorophyll and amino acids. SAEKA's Saemidori leaves are unshaded sencha, giving the powder a brighter, more floral, naturally sweet character.

Deep steamed (fukamushi) for 90 seconds. A much longer steam process breaks down the cell walls of the leaf, producing a powder that dissolves effortlessly with no sifting required and a vivid, creamy cup with soft foam.

Single cultivar: Saemidori. "Sae" means vivid, "midori" means green. This elegant cultivar from Kagoshima is known for delicate floral notes and natural sweetness. SAEKA uses exclusively Saemidori with no blending.

First harvest only (Ichibancha). Only the youngest, most tender leaves at peak flavour. A limited, seasonal product made with the same care as our finest ceremonial matchas.

Tasting notes. A striking floral aroma rises instantly, bright and expressive, layered with gentle sweetness. Beneath this sits a warm, brothy depth of umami, reminiscent of a delicate green tea soup. Mellow, naturally sweet, with a clean lingering finish.
